EMPLOYEE HIGHLIGHT
JR has worked in our Archery division at Escalade Sports since 2004. JR started as a customer service representative for Bear Archery and is now our Dealer Sales Manager, overseeing a team of nine sales representatives across the United States. What he enjoys most about his job is assisting his team's success.
What is JR's favorite aspect of working at Escalade? “Escalade has always been family friendly which is not always common in the workplace. There is a balance between home and work life that can be difficult at times. This place has always been flexible, allowing me to make time for my kids and wife. For that, I am very grateful.”
During his 19 years at Escalade, JR has worked on a variety of projects, but his favorite has been the creation of the annual Cajun 8 bowfishing tournament, which is a project that everyone on the team is passionate about. "This was a collaboration of many individuals coming together and making this one of the best bowfishing tournaments in the country."
Outside of the office, JR can be found building wood projects in his home workshop, where his machinery is constantly expanding, taking his son bowfishing, or cleaning the house on Saturday mornings.
JR's best career lesson thus far has been to always be humble and never think you know too much.
